Document 1794Captain Talbot replies to Secretary Knox's letter of instructions and informs him of his choice of clerk of the yard for New York, Daniel Tingley. Talbot was in the city for the purpose of superintending the construction of the frigate. Also requests that Knox enclose the amount of all the timber which has hiterto been received in the yard. Finally, he encloses the return of the number and quality of the laborers employed.
