303 W. D. Accountants Office December 12^th 1794 [Sep] A receipt from you to the late Major Michael Rudolph for five hundred dollars for recruiting is lodged in this Office. I therefore request that you will immediately on receipt hereof deliver your Account and the necessary vouchers for your disbursement therby and the balance if any remains in your hands to Lieut Swan D^y Pay master of the Troops who will accept to refer to the same. The law requires that rolls "shall be duly enlisted and mustered" an authentic muster roll will be received as evidence thereof if no such roll is to be had, you will inform in what Company they may have been mustered that the rolls in this Office may be examined. If any deviations have happened the recruiting Account must shew the date of inlistment and duration which must be qualified to — the receipt for bounty it is expected will be perfect. It appears that the like sum for the same purpose was advanced by the Major to Ser^t Iren^t B. Lears. If you can obtain and furnish any vouchers or a like proof of the men enlisted and of the money expended by them it will oblige the representatives of the Major
