Blount 1794 — No. 020 — appg] Major Samuel Hodgdon Esquire c Superintendent of Stores of military Stores Philadelphia Springfield Decem^r 11. 1794 S^r I received your letter of the 11 ultimo continuing one thousand dollars in Post notes — which I got in Bank notes — and purchasd in Boston such things as I could obtain that is wanted for the Armory at this place — the Master armorer is now here and a number of the Men — and wants to be Acommedated with one of the Publick Houses for his family, we want a pattern sent on to work by and if you have non that can be sent now — wish that you would be pleased to Write wheather the work is to be don in Imitation of the French or English and what the pieces are to be sheatd with — and if with Black Walnut, it must be Procured from your parts, for it cant be obtaind here — yet Nevertheless a pattern as soon as you can — I shall write to you the next post Respecting the better acommedation of the work men and apprentices I am very Respectfully your most Obedent humble Servant David Ames Major Samuel Hodgdon
