Not being informed of the progress of the recruiting service throughout the U States I have the honor to observe to you, that it appears possibles that new Contracts for Rations therefor During the Year 1795 or a part of it may be necessary. This is the Season in which salted provisions can be purchased, or laid in to the best advantage & of the best quality. An early note of the places at which rations for the Recruiting or any other occasional service may be wanted throughout the U S is therefore requested. —
