Sir
The same reason still exists which I assigned to you on a former application which prevents the final adjustment of the accounts of the late Lieut Nanton B. Tobin, namely that the Paymaster of the Troops in Georgia not having settled his accounts It cannot be ascertained whether he may not have paid the full balance of Mr Tobin's pay and probably he may have advanced money to him for recruiting. An Agent is since sent into that State from whom information is shortly expected of the accounts of the Troops. — In the mean
time the following Statement will shew the situation of Lieut Tobin's account as it stands in my view which will be conclusive provided it shall appear that he is not accountable for any further money, viz:
The United States Dr to H. Nanton B. Tobin deceased for his pay from 1st Jany to 1st March 1792 inclusive 2 Months 1 days @ 22 Dolls & Tobin 46.93
For Do from 1st March to 19th July his day of his death inclusively is 4Mo 9 days 20 } 118.80
Dollars 188.73
From which deduct viz:

Oct 12. Cash recd. of R. R. R. Gardan for two months pay on account Except which was admitted to be credited by H. Tobin on his settlement at this Office up to 1st Jany 1792. 41.-
Cash pd. by Mr. Smith, Contractor for his horse hire . . . } 1.25

Feby March & April 1792 of } 88.

Leaving apparently a Balance of twenty five dollars 25.48 due him under the inscription above stated.
