On the 18th Inst. I requested Major Isaac Denny acting as paymaster at Pittsburgh, to pay you Twenty dollars being the amount of your pay from 10th June the date of your acceptance to 20th Septr. 1794. I could have wished to have conveyed this money to your hands before your arrival at that place but have not been able to accomplish it consistently with the arrangement for remitting and advancing money from this department.
