Sir
I have received your letter of 3 Inst. covering your receipts for payments to your men for their pay for the month of May last. I can not accede to your request that Major Craig shall settle your accounts excepting for such pay and subsistance. You will however deposit your accounts and vouchers with him for which he will give you a descriptive receipt to be transmitted to me and you will pay him the balance remaining in your hands. I have paid the full amount of your draft for Eighty dollars in your pay for May & June last in favor of Mr Sullivan so that the balance of 25 dollars & 20 Cts stated to be due from you in my letter of 20th June may also be refunded to Major Craig.
