Pray have this be distributed upon the returns of the different Officers, to those who shall most need it, and in pursuance of some general arrangement, which may have been made by Col^o Hamilton, or the Commanding Officer at Carlile. I have also forwarded a Waggon containing articles for the President of the United States. Besides the driver this Waggon is under charge of M^r Davis a careful conductor. You will please to give him such further directions for his government as shall have been given to you by M^r Dandridge the President's Secretary.
