This will be handed by your attorney James Ware Junr who having received the sum of Sixteen hundred and Thirty five dollars and 34 Cents being for pay of the Troops of Jefferson county between 1st August & 24th Novr 1792 and 13th April & 28th Decr 1792. You are held accountable for the due application thereof to be paid agreeably to the inclosed pay rolls — You will therefore as soon as possible effect the payments and take the receipts which are to be transmitted to me under cover to the Secy of War — In case of a signature not being written it must be witnessed by a Magistrate or some other official Cha= racter, by a person of known responsibility —
