Your letter of the 25 Ultimo was handed me on the 1st after the departure of the Post, on the receipt of which I applied to Colo Butler, for a party to escort [undecipherable] and we had him sent off in [undecipherable] on the morning of the 1st inst to Fort Washington [thence] to be delivered to the commanding Officer, with instructions to have him sent immediately under Guard to head Quarters.
Mr Samuel Fisher has delivered your Letter of the 15 Inst together with a letter and two packets from Brigr Howell [Containing] Three Thousand five hundred & forty Dollars for pay and Forage of the Troops on the upper posts of the Ohio.
Capt Lymans Detachment is still attached to Governor [undecipherable] Strong, be pleased to inform me whether that Detachment is to descend the Ohio, [undecipherable] form the Troops commanded by Colo [undecipherable: Button], in order that the necessary provision may be made either for Quarters or Transportation.
