[410] [For] [Ct D Rec^d October 8. 179[undecipherable]] You will receive by this express a copy of a letter to me from M^r Gate. A letter has [been/come] not from your office from Col. Carrington — a copy is enclosed. Major [undecipherable] is not here. I have [undecipherable] me 5 or 6 new Blankets have [gone] forward the last this day. [I am undecipherable] as to [undecipherable] than more have [come] from N York in [undecipherable] good time, as he could not get more off than have this day gun. He says that Invoices of all parcells [were] sent with them. The [undecipherable] had gone before this letter was recieved from M^r Carrington. [A] M^r Hodgson informs me that he sends you daily an account of what he forwards. I have not received any information from M^r Stagg relative to the object of your letter of the 5^th. I made this day another more effectual call to see him. He was absent on business. The Clerk [from] whom I left the request for the letter, said he had informed him of my request. The Money for M^r Gate 300 Doll^s has been applied by the exhibition of his letter at your office. [A/] I have cautioned M^r Gate to take care that the [undecipherable] at Baltimore be not communicated to the Militia by the clothing from them. [B/] It appears to me expedient that the agency on [Commissary?] for 1795 should be considered if not settled while the President is in the westward. Several of Gen.
