Dear Sir,
Your favor of the 27 Ultimo is Received, I am Extremely Sorry You have Begun to be apprehensive of a Return of that Fatal Disease, that Visited your City last Year.
You will find herein Inclosed, a Copy of a Requisition made this day By Colo Thomas Butler for Clothing for the Detachments under his Command, You will hurry for the Assistance wanted in addition to that already Removed, to Complete the Troops at the Upper Posts.
On the 3d Ultimo I found it necessary to draw on you in favor of James G Brown for Two Hundred Dollars, Pay able at ten days Sight, which is pleasant to pay and Change as Usual.
The Expenditures in the Quarter Master Department as a Consequence of my Transportation in Consequence of Requisitions from the D.M.G. for Forage Pack Horse Drivers Boat Boys &c, and also in Consequence of the Ammunition, Additional Work to Fort Fayette have been much the Same on being Augmented; a Considerable Addition to the Barracks now Making have thereon Under a necessity of again Calling on You for a Sum of Money in Addition to my Drafts & Draws for Straw and Litter will not equal my former Wants. An Estimate of Which I Shall Endeavor to have for you by next Post as I don't know of any more Money to be Obtained in the Town on Draft.
On the 5th Ultimo I find in Charge of the
McsSm Belle I DlMr. Two Packets addressed to Cum Webster Junior Comptroller of the Treasury Containing Vouchers of my Expenditures in the I.D. Department for for all months ending the Last of June 1794, & to Mr McColloch has set, as Usual Acknowledge the Receipt of these Packets, I have to beg of you to make the necessary Enquiry of Mr Belle — whom I Suppose you will find at the Waggon in Market Street — A Port Maritime. The Property of Elegan Leroy. Addressed to your Care, was also Sent with Mr Belle: Baggage together with a Bundle of Marten Skins Sent by Doctor McRue Addressed to his Wife No2. North 5th Street, of these things also please to Enquire of Mr Belle —
