No. 26]] Trenton the 2^d October 1794 — Dear Sir, I mentioned [in my] [undecipherable] many letter of yesterday wanting to supply the troops for — I have now to acquaint you that the [M^r] Hunt your Agent, is [undecipherable] in Colonel Davenports Regiment as Major and is gone on with the troops; I have called on his assistant to furnish me with a return of what stores he has on hand, [of] which the enclosed is a Copy; I have [been] informed that Major [undecipherable] has delivered many articles without any [undecipherable] to it; however I shall call on his assistant [before] I leave this place to furnish me with an exact return of what he has delivered, (and the whom delivered) you can not imagine the demands that are made of Various articles from the general down to the [undecipherable]; I find every thing that can be drawn from the public stores the great profusion [undecipherable] out many articles on their Returns — you will please to [undecipherable] that nearly 1100 Men (cavalry artillery) and Infantry (Officer excluded) have marched towards Carlisle, it is expected at least 700 Men more will be assembled here to put on the march — General [undecipherable] arrived yesterday and informs me that in the course of a few Days he would have 900 Men Volunteers ready to march, [undecipherable] cannot expect about 300 Men [undecipherable] I mention this, to leave you to judge of the articles necessary to be forwarded, and to calculate from the enclosed return of Stores on Hand — as soon as you will furnish me with an accurate account of the Stores you have sent to M.^r Hunt I shall put every thing, straight and Clear —— with much Esteem I am your Ob^t Serv^t = [signature] Copy Stores on Hand the [1^st] October 1794 — 80 Common Tents at Lamberton 36 Camp Kettles — 107 Valises 102 [undecipherable] Swords — [undecipherable] [undecipherable] Grays — 16 [undecipherable] Halters — 236 Blankets → 75 Sword Belts — [As arms and accoutrements are Sufficient in the Store] Figured Furman Yard to Col Samuel Hodgdon — [Hd.
