Perkins came from Philadelphia in the Spring he in Company with Cap^tn Holt after some Discourse on other subjects, informed me that he & Major Holt had a for various Reasons to make my Son Equal in Wages with My[s]elf with Cap^tn Holt did Confide with from wch I expected my Son whas to have had 26 65 P^r Month but to my great Astonishment when I came to Settle with Cap^tn Holt wha whas not untill the 25^th of this Month dep— I found he whas Still returned at 16 Dollars only and what is Still more Surpprizing that Cap^tn Holt Declares he does not remember any Such an agreement However I must refer you to M^r Perkins for further Perticulers and I trust to your goodness to See me Righted in this Part wch favour I Shall Ever Greatfully [undecipherable] Your M^st Hbl & Ob^dt Ser.
