[C P R. O Sep 29 179-] Sir Applications to view the pattern clothing for the general contract for 1795 are very frequent at this Office. No pattern was ever, except shoes, has been sent here, since those for the Artillery, which were immediately forwarded to New York, where a contract is made for them, & for which purposes the pattern coat was specially des. I have written for the coat to be sent hither. It does not appear on enquiry that there are any patterns for the general contract at this Office. The time approaches at which the business is to be clos. It is therefore very desirable, that the pattern clothing should be immediately procured for exhibition.
