R.P.O. 40510.] [247] [247] [247] [247] To John Bryant Springfield [undecipherable] 1794 D^o Colonel Hodgdon &c Superintendent of Stores Philadelphia Springfield Sept 25^th 1794 Sir I received your letter of the 11 inst^t and have sent the Pistols by the first opportunity which was yesterday. Cap^t Whittlesey of Middletown was here when they where but onboard the Boat I told him the orders you wrote respecting them, he will send them from Middletown by land to New Haven if there is no Vessel ready to Sail. They are well packed and in good order in five chest, except eight which want a little repair they in the chest N^o 5. Two Pistols are wanting to complete the number that I cannot account for.
