War department Sept^r 24 1794 Sir I have received a letter from the commissioner of the Revenue, dated 22 Inst. of which the enclosed is a copy — Will you be pleased to appoint some suitable person at New York, to inspect the Iron ball, which are to be delivered there by [undecipherable] Faesch of New Jersey on [undecipherable] Account? and let me know the Inspector's Name. The object of this letter is to request that you will be pleased to procure an inspector to be appointed at New York and that you will be so obliging as to inform me.
