Sir. [undecipherable] [undecipherable]day
I wish to inform you that Mr Ralston at Strasburg, and Col. Postlethwaite at Carlisle have advanced each the sum of sixty Dollars, in the purchase of two horses furnished to the expedition sent to & from Pittsburg, during the late mission into the western Country. As this was done merely from a desire that the public interest might not suffer, the reimbursement of these Gentlemen Claims an early attention, & the Commissioner engaged that they should be speedily repaid. — Mr Scott, the Senator from Lancaster goes for Strasburg is known & can arrange this business with Ralston to your satisfaction. He will also have some demands for the keeping of the horse. — The same may be said of Col. Postlethwaite.
The horses bought by the Commissioners were lodged, one at, Downing town — one at Lancaster — & two at Bedford. — We wish to have an opportunity of settling the account of them as soon as possible.
I am Sir,
Your hum Serv
