Sir I have received a letter from the commissioner of the Revenue, dated 22^d Inst. of which the enclosed is a copy. — Will you be pleased to appoint some suitable person at New York, to inspect the Iron ball, which are to be delivered there by M^r Faesch of New Jersey on [undecipherable] Account? and let me know the Inspector's Name. [Enclosure] Treasury Department Revenue Office Sep 22. 1794 A quantity of 24^th iron ball and [undecipherable] or iron ballast [is] to be ready at New york delivered there by John Jacob Faesch [Esq.] of [New] Jersey to John Blagge Esq^r the naval agent. There may be some 32^d ball for the fortifications [re]ceipt of which will no doubt be undertaken by [Col.] Nicholas Fish or M^r Blagge, if you have no other person there. The object of this letter is to request that you will be pleased to procure an inspector to be appointed at New york and that you will be so obliging as to inform me.
