Sir,
The Secretary of the Treasury has directed that Cornets Slough and all his Dragoons be annexed to the detachment commanded by Lieutenant Bisell, ordered to take charge of the Ordnance and Military Stores directed to be forwarded to Williamsport in Maryland for the use of the Virginia and Maryland Militia
He therefore requests that you would be pleased to furnish Mr. Slough with as much money out of what you may have in your hands belonging to the Quarter Masters department as may enable him to procure forage for his party to Lancaster and from thence to Williamsport, for which he is to be held accountable.
