Sir,
The Honble General Knox having advised me of Your Appointment as Superintendant of the Military Stores of the United States and directed that my future returns should be made to You — In Compliance with his orders I have the Pleasure to inclose You a Return of the Ordnance and Military Stores of the Public under my Care at this Post and its Instructions received from the War Office, when I was honored with the appointment I hold
If in the Arrangement of the Business at Your Office it should be deemed expedient to make any Alteration in the Form, I will Chearfully conform to Your orders, in that Instant as well as every other Commands You honor me with being
