[undecipherable] [undecipherable] --- New U— Sept 5. 1794 Sir, your letter dated the 29 ult: I received the 3 in^st. thank. I am now very busily engaged selecting out the articles you sent for, that are here fit to send. There are a great many articles mentioned to advance a time fit for service that are not. The little time I have been here I have had so much to do, that I could not examine the articles in the store houses. There are not any gunners belts, Musquetoon belts, portfires, tumbrils, nor traversing forges here fit for service. The stores for the advance I expect I shall be able to [undecipherable] — have a [undecipherable] tomorrow, such as [undecipherable] — the [undecipherable] for New York. After I send the stores for the advance I will examine the musket cartridges. I may be able to make out two or three boxes of pistol musket cartridges by gathering up loose ones, and may be able to make out the remainder. I ask 1 fifty thousand in cartridges for my Irish muskets. If for muskets they may answer. I enclose you a receipt for the clothing for the advance detachment stationed here.
