Accountants Office August 29^th 1794 Sir, The Treasurer agreeably to direction of the department has remitted his draft on Jacob Smith Cashier of the Office of discount and deposit in Charleston in favor of John Hean Cashier of the Branch of United states and by him made payable to John Matthew Eq^r Supervisor in his order for the sum of one thousand eight hundred and two dollars, to be paid to you being for the hay, subsistence and forage of the regular troops in Georgia for the months of August and September agreeably to my estimate thereof. Copy of the draft is inclosed. — This mode of remittance is in conformity to your letter of the 11^th Ult^o in which I have presumed that you will be enabled to have the draft negotiated without discount. By the next Mail I shall remit funds for the payment of the difference of the pay and subsistence of the Officers who have been promoted — You mention your intention to transmit the Militia rolls for pay due, when Militia have been called into service under the authority of the United States.
