It is directed, that there will be Shortly
assembled at Williamsport in Maryland a body
of 2050 — Militia and at and near [undecipherable: Winchester?]
in Virginia [undecipherable] a body of 4300 in —
Militia. It is of the most urgent importance that
you should [strikethrough: proceed] forward without delay to those
places respectively all Sorts of Military Stores, and
tents and other Camp Equipage [strikethrough: as] proportioned to
the [undecipherable: number] to be assembled at each; As you
have been directed, to furnish an order in favour
of Col Edward Carrington for the articles [undecipherable]
in the hand of Mr Holt at New London in
Virginia, you will make a deduction in the
articles which you have forward correspondingly with
what you know to be at that place. That
articles ought to arrive at their destination by
the 20th of September at furthest.
You will please to lay before
me as soon as possible an Inventory of
the articles you mean to furnish pursuant
to this requisition that it may be abridg'd or
added to as may appear adviseable —
