Springfield August 7 1794 S^ir I have sent sixteen six pounders and ten three pounders with there carriages to Chauncey Wetmore Esq^r at Middletown to be transported to Philadelphia addressed to you. I wish I could have had time allowed me for finishing the carriages of the three pounders and repaire the carriages of the six pounders but I could not keep them any longer as I was ordered by the Secretary of war to send them of as soon as possible. Tho they Should not all be mounted I intended to get sheet Iron from new yorke for the lock plates that are wanting for the [strikethrough: the] carriages of the three pounders, and the handles of the side boxes as there is none to be had hear. The number of the three pounders is mark'd on the trunnion and the carriage on the capoquine. The side boxes is mark'd on the inside of the lid. I have sent the elevating screws tho they are not fixt in their places. I hope the the next I send will compleat I congratulate you on your new appointment.
