Sir,
I have the honor to transmit you a list of the invalid pensioners for the State of Pennsylvania with my warrant thereon for the payment of their annual pensions up to the fourth of September next inclusively.
The Secretary of the Treasury will furnish you with the necessary funds to pay said invalids.
I have caused advertisements to be inserted in all the public papers, that the payments will be made by the Commissioners of Loans for the respective States on the fifth of September next.
With respect to the instructions, you will be pleased to adhere strictly to those given you on former dates.
On the fifth day of December next, you will transmit to this Office a return of the invalids who have applied, and to whom you have made payment, in which you will also note any deaths, or removals which may have taken place of any of the invalids, and of which you may be informed. You will please to pay the strictest attention to this regulation, as the preservation of a regularity in the business depends in a great measure thereon.
Your accounts of payment and the respective vouchers belonging to the same are to be transmitted to the Auditors Office of the Treasury for settlement.
In my return of invalid pensioners made to you for payment on the twenty sixth day of June last, the sum due to John Sliter to the 24th day of that month was erroneously stated at three Dollars and eighty eight & one third cents, instead of twenty four Dollars and sixteen & two thirds Cents — The error you will please to correct, and pay the said John Sliter such a further sum as shall make up the amount of the said twenty four Dollars and sixteen and two thirds cents.
