Description

Secretary Knox informs the Governor of Virginia that the sum of money to be deployed for the fortifications of Norfolk amounts to $6737. Knox has requested Secretary Hamilton to enter into immediate arrangements for purchasing the land necessary. Finally, Knox comments on the failed revolt in Smithfield, Virginia, which he calls an "open and violent resistance to the laws."
