I have the honor to request from you, either a list of the goods which you consider as prop[er] assortment, or an indication of such former requisitions as by varying the scale may serve to guide the purchase now desired. — The Confidence placed by the President in Gen^l Chapin points him out as a suitable person for managing the business of Subsistence at the Treaty. you will be pleased to instruct him to communicate his preparations, progress, & completion of the business to this office, & to send hither the accounts of expenditures. — I have the honor to be Sir, [Ex^d] Your most Ob^d Servant.
