War Department Accountants Office July 22. 1794 Agreeably to the arrangement for remitting from time to time Money from this Department — I have caused to be remitted to Aaron Dunham Esq^r Supervisor Esq^r at Trenton the Sum of Forty Dollars being for the pay due to Cap^t Zebⁿ Pike for the month of Decem. 1793 to be transmitted to M^r Pike for which She is to receipt accordingly and therefor I return you her receipt for that Sum it not being taken agreeably to the manner in which the payments is made her — I have proposed to M^r Dunham to remit you the Sum and that you Should pay it and forward to him M^rs Pikes receipt — I am with respect S^r Your Obed^t Serv^t Joseph Howell P.S.
