The Secretary at War, by Letters dated the 15th &
19 Instant, has applied for the following advances for
the service of his Department, — Vizt —
For the pay subsistence and forage of the D. C.
Troops under the command of General Wayne
for the Months of August & September of the
present Year ——————————————————— 30,950. 90
For the pay, Subsistence and forage, of the
Troops in South Carolina & Georgia ——— 1,402. —
For the pay of mounted Militia, to be Assembled
under the command of Major General Nolis — 60,000 —
Amounting to One hundred thousand, three hundred & fifty two Dollars, and Ninety Cents —
As the Secretary of the Treasury is absent, I have
to request of you on his behalf, that you would be pleased
to take measures, for preparing notes for the sums above
mentioned, according to a list, which the Accountant of
the War Department will furnish. — Warrants for cover-
ing the expenditure, will be seasonably issued —
