War Department July 12. 1794 Sir The Secretary of War requests that you will engage a suitable vessel to transport the detachment of Troops now in this City to Charleston South Carolina, consisting of about forty five men under Captain Kerney, a Lieutenant and Surgeon will also be of the detachment. Three months salted provisions are ordered to be shipped on board the transport as a temporary supply for the Troops after their arrival at Charleston and thirty days allowance for the voy[age]. M^r Tench Francis has some articles to send to Georgia for the persons to be employed in cutting Ship timber for the Public, and the Secretary requests that they may be forwarded in the same vessel with the troops — M^r Francis will arrange with you this business — Your Sir respectfully Your humble Servant.
