The Treasurer will remit you five hundred dollars to be transmitted to Captain James Bruff of the Corps of Artillerists and Engineers at Chester Mills being for the use of the recruiting service for which he is to receipt to be accountable for the due application thereof — and the further sum of three hundred dollars to be transmitted to John Shemonnet at Alexandria for which he is to receipt as so much on account of his compensation as a temporary Engineer on advance, to be accountable.
