Document 1794Secretary Knox informs Navy agent Henry Jackson that he is desirous that John Hacket, constructor of the frigate Alliance, should be engaged as the constructor of the 44-gun frigate Constitution to be built at Boston. States that Hacket's salary may not exceed $2,000 per annum, and possibly be less than $1,400.
