Sir,
Having received your Letter of the 19. Current advising me of the Sum of five hundred Dollars being placed in the hands of John Chester Supervisor of the Revenue for the District of Connecticut, to be employed by me in the recruiting Service; I called upon him this Day, received the same; and have agreeably to your Directions given duplicate Receipts of this Date, promising to account [strikethrough: with] you for that Sum.
I have also strictly perused your circular Letters of 1st 20 March 1793. & 28th January 1794. enclosed, and shall studiously conform myself to their Directions.
