[From Cap^t. Russell Bissell a June 29^th 1794 From Cap^t. R. Bissell] Middletown June 29^th 1794 — Sir Your letter of the 11^th Ins^t. I have recived with the Letters and Pay Roll enclosd therein. I have recivd the Money which was remited to John Chester Esq^r. Supervisor for Connecticut. and have paid of the recruits agreeably to your demand, deserters excepted, and I now enclose you a receit Roll of the same, a duplicate of which I hold in my own hands. I hold 2 Dollars and 20 Cents ocasiond by the desertions of W. Wetton and W. H. Howard. which sum I wish you to deduct from my pay in the next Rolls. I shall be perticular in requiring all the necessary Vouchers for the security of publick moneys in my hands. All advances made to Ensⁿ. D. Bissell is setled regularly, & the moneys which I have recivd will be Accounted for in the manner you expect — I have enclosd a letter to Cap^t. E.
