⇣War department June 27 1794 Philadelphia Sir Brigadier General Procter has applied to me for the ammunition estimate for the celebration of the fourth of July. As this is the great epoch of American liberty and independence and as this is the seat of the general government, it is highly proper to comply with his request, more especially as this has been an usual expence. You will therefore please deliver the said articles to Major Jeremiah Fisher. I am Sir Your Obedt Servant H Knox Samuel Hodgdon
