Dear Sir, Alexandria 25 Jan 1794
I have just received your favor of the 19 [undecipherable] by Mr Meshet. I will write to Capts Mackay in conformity thereto — I am very sorry to hear of your state of health. I hope that you will soon recover — I have not heard from Doctor Bolter since I wrote to him by Capts Joseph Jadis — which I know not how to account for —
I believe that I forgot to mention to you, that being tired of waiting on Mr White, I requested Mr Magill to look after the Suit against Henshaw & V. I have the pleasure to acquaint you that within a few days I have received a Replevin Bond for your claim, dated 19th May 1794, amount £100. 5..8.
This business has been badly neglected by White &
his agents — I remain in haste, Dr
your very humble Servant
Thos Porter
[13] I have written to Mackay that this debt of Henshaw's would be probably recovered in about two years — I Shall not now mention the Replevin Bond to him without your direction or I should be prevented from complying with Mackay's proposals —
