Document 1794Tench Coxe of the Revenue Office informs the Treasury Secretary that a purchase of salt petre was effected on the 13th at Providence, Rhode Island, at 18 dollars per pound for a quantity amounting to about 22 tons. This, with the commission, will be near 9000 dollars. The whole is payable in 15 days at the Bank of Providence.
