Pittsburg 20th June 1794
Dear Sir
On the 17th Instant, I was under a necessity of drawing on you in favour of Mr. Wm McKinley for five hundred Dollars at [*day] sight, [illegible] of his account for Grain delivered agreeable to contract.
The Qr Mr Genl in his letter from Wheeling has instructed me to Purchase & Send forward a large Quantity of forage & apply to you for the means of Payment. I have therefore to request you to remitt me five thousand Dollars for the Quarter Master Department at this Post and its dependices
No oppertunity has yet offered of sending down the Horse I have therefore most earnestly to Recommend your purchasing him of the Owner.
