Reading, 4^th June 1794 S^r I herewith enclose you the Receipt of my Detachment for their pay for the Month of April. I hall Endeavour to make it last as long as I Possibly can, but I have opened a Book of the 2^d with each Man Seperately and make them advance of Coffee in such a Manner they are they are going to make of it, however I find it will not in future I do, as Sev^l of my Men have debted before I had taken my Receipt. I find a Deficiency of the Money that I have advanced, and hope it will be reckoned in good Part — The weather has occasioned a great delay in my march, and the weather got affront completed and of the time nothing has been when I shall get to head quarters.
