[Exterior: Josiah Fox] I have considered the matter attentively since you mentioned to me to day and have also examined the draught I think a Mould loft to lay down the loft Gun Frigate ought to be about 100 Feet in Length and the breadth should be convenient more than the Extreme breadth of the [Fore of the?] others and will be found to be very convenient as the Half breadth plans can be laid down in her lengths — moreover I have not down the Dimensions of these mould lofts belonging to private Builders on the River Thames, from whence you may judge what here may be requisite for the Frigates, if the Mould loft is to be used in future and is wanted for the Sole purpose of Frigates, I then think it might to be made sufficiently large to accommodate a 74 Gun Ship, which will require to be many feet longer and Breadth I am ever &c June 14^th 1794 Josiah Fox [small notation] M^r Perrys mould loft at Blackwall is in length 120 feet by 50 Broad Dudleys at Gravesend .............. do " 100 by 50 [undecipherable]s Rotherhithe 80 by 40 [undecipherable] could not get the several loft built Frigates
