[Copy of letter to General Knox on Indian affairs] Canadagua 18^th June 1794 Sir & P. I had the honor of informing you in my letter of the 9^th Instant that on the return of Mr Denis the permission to Upper Canada by me that I would comunicute such Information as I should recieve from him. The inclosed is the narrative that he has committed to paper since his Return. The Council which was to have been held at Venango is to be meet at Buffaloe Creek. I have already recieved three Messages from the Indians requesting my immediate attendance. I was in hopes that I might have been able to put off going until the return of my Son, but their last Message prefers me in the most earnest manner to repair [thither] immediately & shall according to attend to morrow. I am afraid of the consequences of the attempt to settle the pres[e]nt disputes — the Indians do not acknowledge the Validity of the Boundry between [the] State to Pensylvania.
