Arthur St Clair Esqr Governor of the Territory North west of the Ohio is charged on my books 9th April 1793 for Warrant No 153 for 1000 dollars being for the incidental and contingent expenses of the Indian department for which he is accountable, this advance was made by direction of the Secretary of War and whether the objects thereof are accomplished or still pending I suppose the Governor and the Secretary will determine — In case you think the sum ripe for settlement at this time, I request you to inform one that I may be enabled to balance my books.
