Your Letter of the 9th Instant by the hands of Mr m General Scott, I Received on the 26, a Keel Boat, was fitted out for the General on his Arrival, But by Mr Claims Detachment being here, and prepared to descend the Ohio, and it being Considerably loaded by the late Rain he preferred a Kentucky Boat Escorted by the Detachment accordingly Embarked and set off with the Troops, early on the Morning of the 28 — — Ensign Mr Clure taking in days three Boats, loaded with all the Stores of Importance, now on board, a Copy of the Invoice of Which Shall be Sent by a Person that Sets off for Philadelphia on Monday next.
The Quarter Master General is preparing to Set off for Head Quarters, in a few days, all the Stores that may come to hand during his Stay, will be Sent forward from him —
I am informed, that Capt Heth with a Detachment of Recruits from Winchester is on his march for this Place —
