Accountants Office May 17^th 1794 Sir I have put into the hands of M^r Thomas Love paymaster to the Kentucky Volunteers of 1793 the sum of nine hundred and eighty five dollars and 22 Cents for the pay of sundry troops stationed under your Authority in the Wilderness agreeably to the enclosed Abstract, which sum M^r Love is directed to deliver to you, for which you will please to give him a receipt, unless you will be pleased to appoint M^r Love to pay the Officers and Men which I would recommend if it meets with your Excellency's approbation.
