Pittsburg 16^th May 1794— Dear Sir, The Quarter Master General not having yet arrived, nor having remitted money for his department, I have been under a necessity of drawing on you this day, for fourteen hundred Dollars payable ten days after Sight, to Charles Greene or order, this draft is in discharge of an Account for Grain— delivered at Fort Washington, by Greene & Meigs,— agreeable to contract made with the Q^r Gen^l— Be Pleased to deliver the enclosed Letter addressed to M^r Charles Greene, with Your own hands, as it contains the draft above mentioned. I am under a promise to him to deliver it [into his] safe hand as early as Possible.
