Benja Mifflin The United States D^r To Daniel Cook serjeant of Cap^t Corn^s Lymans Company now attached with Cap^t Howe For his pay for the months of April & May 1793. 2 months @ D^s 12 I have examined Order N^o 282 in the year 1793, Settlem^t 5 of the Accountant now on file in the Treasury department & find that Lt Staats Morris who was charg'd with the payment of the recruits raised by Maj^r J. P. Wyllys for April & May did not pay Serj^t D^l Cook. nor was he made up in the Pay Role fitted & deliver'd Lt Morris — owing as I suppose to a [undecipherable] that he was "under bond" & it being presumed that he might be releas'd by the Civil authority — it appears that he has march'd from the rendezvous & is detach'd to & with Cap^t [undecipherable] Howe I therefore conceive that the above sum of twelve Dolls his pay for those months should be granted to him — Benja Mifflin Jos^h Howell Esq^r &c War Dep^t Acct^s Office Ap^l 30. 1794 approved Joseph Howell Aud^r
