Sir
Treasury Department,
Revenue Office August 15, 1794.
Mr Francis has applied to me concerning sundry matters which are contained in a recent letter of the Governor of Pennsylvania, & yourself to Major L'Enfant. Will you do me the honor to direct a copy of, or extract from this letter to be transmitted to this office as I am unable without it to point my instructions to Mr Francis to any object.
I have not yet received from the Secretary of the Treasury your requisition of the 12 instant of Cartridge boxes, & Muskets. Several enquiries have been made for it, & the Clerk in his Office directed to furnish it.
I have the honor to be with great respect
Sir Your most Obed. Servant
Signed Tench Coxe,
Commisr of the Revenue.
