I wrote you on the eighteenth inst under cover to the Secretary of War and forwarded a duplicate thereof on the twenty Ninth.
I have committed to the care of Mr Seagrove, who will deliver you this, the militia pay rolls, which have been transmitted to me by Mr Dorsey, to wit —
1st. Capt. Jonas Fauche's roll for 3.151. 57
2. The same officers — roll — 3. 60. 30.
3. Capt. Robtn Flournoys roll — 3. 151. 80.
And I request that you would be pleased to pay the amount thereof, Seven thousand, one hundred and ninety seven dollars and [undecipherable: seven] cents, to Mr Seagroves credit. I have already transmitted you duplicate copies of this account current.
Dr Dricks arrived at this place on the twenty sixth instant — he has found the troops Sober — as Soon as I shall have examined his rolls, I will transmit them to you — at present it is almost impossible, as Mr Seagrove has just returned from the Creek Nation, and is accompanied by about forty Indians — upon whom I must attend till I shall be able again to attend to business.
