The Secretary of War has directed the Treasurer of the UStates to remit to Nathaniel Gorham Esqr Supervisor at Boston the sum of one thousand dollars to be paid you being for repairs to be done and for articles to be purchased &c under the direction of the President respecting which I suppose you have received instructions.
You will please to sign duplicate receipts to the Supervisor to be accountable for the due application thereof.
